Pros

Join only if you've no choice. Hmm let me brief you about global logic.. it has 2 wings, one Polaris Wireless (EDC) and other is for all other small ODCs... Pros for other small odcs: - Initial Pay is good, but single digit hike then after - Lot of short time onsite opportunities - work from home or rather work for home facilities - no work, just relax.. many projects don't even require you to be in office every day no one really cares if you've come office - one can take as many off as you can without even applying leaves or informing your manager - once you're on bench, you get 3 months time to get into other project or find a new job. - getting through another project in 3 months bench time is very easy, as there'll be so many small projects... and then the cycle goes on and on until you quit and say bye bye to GlobalLogic Pros for Polaris Wireless project: - Good regular increment (15% +) - Development work, but work on quite outdated technologies - Top management is quite interactive and conducts regular all hands and other team activities - well defined roadmap - flexible timings

Cons

Cons are countless.. Cons for other small odcs I wonder how do they make profits - NO PROFESSIONALISM, most of the time you would hear people shouting on others in middle of the floor. - almost all are short term projects from clients who outsource small part of their work, few runs for just 3 - 4 weeks and then contract over. - every other month you would be on bench as the project are all very short terms - no planning, every thing is just ad-hock - most of the employees are BCA, BSc, Distance MCA and very few BTech or regular MCA - incompetent managers/leads - most of the employees are here for years as they can't get through other companies all say they'll quit, but that never happens ;) - no team outings, no team activities - no scope to learn new or implement any new ideas as all go as per predefined route/path - feels like a government running company ...... and many more Cons for Polaris Wireless - most of the time you'll have to work late nights as the work load is high - requirements changes every other day - we're open for new ideas.. its just in words. - what you do and how you do are all decided by your manager/lead - they're way to backward when it comes to technologies or best practices NEVER SUGGEST ANYTHING NEW, otherwise the whole system would be up and against you.. mind it :)

Pros

- You can learn - if you wish to - Freedom - flexi-timings - Freedom - you own the product, so you could design it too

Cons

- Not exactly a product company, but product maintenance company (doing maintenance work for other company's products) - Undertakes very small projects too - small in terms of team-size(2/3), and duration (3/4 months) - and has got a reputation of firing folks after using them - Flexi-timings has tranlated into a big time laissez faire culture

Pros

Good exposure to technologies. Good work and good work life balance. Competent salary usually experience multiplied by 2. Negotiation can fetch better also.

Cons

I couldn't find any cons during my period. I left because of poor hike.
