Pros

I switched to this company after leaving my previous employer. Two years out of college, I was frustrated, undervalued, and underpaid at my current employer. I began looking around to see what opportunities were out there and I came across Goldbelt. I didn't really know too much about them but thought "whats an application going to hurt". Long story short, they offered me a job, paid me what I asked for, gave me an office and anything else I needed to have a productive work environment (in comparison, at my previous job I worked in a cubicle with broken desk drawers and broken lights that were never fixed regardless of how many times I asked). For the first time in my short career, my ideas and opinions are given genuine consideration and, if liked by my superiors, implemented into operations. The feeling that I am valued as an employee and coworker (instead of a fraternity pledge) is so rewarding beyond the work we actually do. I am no longer forcing myself through the work day, winding myself up in hopes of a future payoff, or feeling down on myself for being at the bottom of the hierarchy. It feels like a team atmosphere without double standards. They eliminated every aggravation I had with working that resulted from my prior employment experience.

Cons

Government contracting in itself is not the most interesting industry. And I love my office but sometimes I wish I could work remotely.

Pros

Great senior management that provides a nurturing and collaborative work environment.

Cons

Board of Directors r are unqualified to oversee a company of any size. No business experience. Spend most of their time in petty political battles abusing management in the process. Board consistently suspends bonus payments to management when pre-established goals are achieved . Board does not adhere to board governance rules and regularly interferes with management. Racial prejudice is promoted by the board of directors.

Pros

Diversified mini-conglomerate with investments in Tourism and Federal Contracting around the Country. Headquarters are in beautiful southeast Alaska in the State's capital of Juneau.

Cons

Difficult Board of Directors made up of Alaska Native Americans, many of whom have little business background. The job involves continual interaction with Board Members to assure them of your loyalty. Many will try to manipulate or micro-manage the position for their own personal interests.
