Pros

Good Samaritan is a faith-based company that truly lives its values. The heart of everything we do is our mission.

Cons

With such wide geography, it is challenging to have systems which work well in every state. Change is slow to implement.

In providing resources to over 230 locations, and multiple service lines there is a tendency to consider how changes impact so many areas. While perhaps not quick, the focus is strategic, and does involve making sure that changes that will impact people (more than 23000 employees, and not counting the customers we serve) are well thought out prior to action being taken for the entire company. We have exciting projects happening and there are certainly opportunities to continue to use your talents now and into the future. So glad to hear that you are experiencing the mission that is at the heart of what we do.

Pros

(I am a former National Campus employee) The work environment is filled with caring people in an environment that is open to discussing faith and worshiping together. The best part of working at the Society, for me, was the organization's mission. Your work helps impact the care of older adults and their families who are trying to balance and navigate the changing health of their loved one.

Cons

There is a lot of red tape. Employees aren't empowered to make decisions. Instead, a lot of upper management gets involved in making a lot of big and small decisions that make the whole organization move slowly. The company was also experiencing a financial crunch when I was there and it was very stressful. We were already doing more with less, but then it became do more with even less.

We like getting your advice, especially as we are working on the Gallup Employee Engagement surveys and involving employees in these follow-up discussions. We are always open to feedback, and that leads to better understanding and making specific efforts to our working environment. Each department is involved in setting goals using the Gallup Employee Engagement results as we all want to be able to make an impact. Especially, as you mention what we do at the National Campus in directly to support the field locations who provide the care to seniors in our varied communities.
