Thank you for taking the time to share your review with others. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed working with our clients. We understand our Dietary Assistants work very hard in a demanding field. We strive to provide a comprehensive benefits package, as well as other benefits such as opportunities for daily devotions and Bible study. And the chance to work in a place that allows you to care for each resident, client and fellow staff member as a whole person  — mind, body and spirit.

Pros

(I am a former National Campus employee) The work environment is filled with caring people in an environment that is open to discussing faith and worshiping together. The best part of working at the Society, for me, was the organization's mission. Your work helps impact the care of older adults and their families who are trying to balance and navigate the changing health of their loved one.

Cons

There is a lot of red tape. Employees aren't empowered to make decisions. Instead, a lot of upper management gets involved in making a lot of big and small decisions that make the whole organization move slowly. The company was also experiencing a financial crunch when I was there and it was very stressful. We were already doing more with less, but then it became do more with even less.

We like getting your advice, especially as we are working on the Gallup Employee Engagement surveys and involving employees in these follow-up discussions. We are always open to feedback, and that leads to better understanding and making specific efforts to our working environment. Each department is involved in setting goals using the Gallup Employee Engagement results as we all want to be able to make an impact. Especially, as you mention what we do at the National Campus in directly to support the field locations who provide the care to seniors in our varied communities.

Pros

The residents were wonderful there. Even though some were senile, others treated me like family. The hiring process was fast and easy. I had an 2 interviews and was hired within a week and started the following week.

Cons

Terrible coworkers- My manager never bothered to sit down and have a face to face conversation about my hours after 2 weeks of working there. Instead would contact my other coworkers as to what my hours would be from day to day. From day one I was expected to remember every single detail about each of the residents likes and dislikes during their meal time, including what specific drinks they like to drink at each meal. After two days I was pushed around and scolded about not remembering the detailed list of each resident. Another thing was the CNA's talked down to me like they were better and wouldn't allow me to talk to any of the residents.
