Pros

I really enjoyed getting to know the residents.

Cons

The rumor mill got a bit crazy and one shift complaining about another not doing something right.

Pros

I have worked for the Good Samaritan Society for a few years now and I could definitely see myself retiring here. The Society cares tremendously about its staff members, all the way from its headquarters to new employees working the floor. From an office job position, I see how much the directors care about the work environment and are always tossing around ideas on how to make it better for the frontline staff. They are also always discussing the best route for each individual resident and his or her situation in the home, whether it be recovery or long-term care. They truly care about everyone. Prayer and devotions before each meeting creates an amazing God-centered atmosphere that is rare to find these days. The Society is always updating processes and systems to ensure maximum quality for both residents and staff members, and they implement these updates as soon as possible for all of the centers.

Cons

Frontline staff turnover is always a main topic of discussion, but that isn't the Society's fault. The healthcare industry is tricky business these days, and being a nonprofit poses its own hurdles in terms of keeping an edge on the competition. However, they do take a proactive approach to ensure a quality work environment for the staff members, as that is just as important as pay.
