Pros
Graduating with a finance background with primarily options trading experience - I never envisioned myself working in the insurance industry let alone being an insurance broker. Fortunately, taking the opportunity to join Goosehead has hands down been the best trade I've ever made. Goosehead has not only allowed me to enhance my career financially, but it's provided endless opportunities and pathways on how to further advance my career in such little time. Having experience in general business, finance, and sales roles - I've experienced many different management styles and cultures. What sets Goosehead apart is that the phrase "you get what you put in" - is actually 1000000% true. Make no mistake about it, nothing is given to you, but the opportunity of a new market along with competitive products, top notch technology, and unlimited resources make it very doable to succeed early and often. I've never experienced a position, most certainly not in sales, where your colleagues are literally doing everything in their power to help you achieve incentives and personal milestones. Having a solid mix of tenured and newer agents brings a really cool mix to the company culture as well. Much of your job early on is spent traveling and driving, but if you continue to work hard and produce the autonomy aspect is available. Being able to balance my schedule and work days knowing I don't have a long commute has been extremely beneficial mentally and professionally.
Cons
Long days. 8 AM -6 PM can be daunting at first, but that's really the only negative thing I could see about this job and that is primarily only early in your career. Like anything worth having - you've got to earn it. Once you get a better feel for the job you could essentially create your own hours. Having previous jobs with 0 flexibility I can confidently say this is a game changer mentally.
