Pros

Flexible schedule when needed. Benefits are good.

Cons

Straight to the point…If you are African American please run do not apply. You are made to feel of lesser value than other ethnicities. There is no culture awareness and no diversity inclusion at the corporate level which causes the executive leaders/managers to not know how to work with the predominantly African American ethnicity in the Richmond region. The executives will come to Richmond look you in your face and still not speak. Out of 4.5 years no performance eval or write up. Least paid in the HR department. First African American in corporate HR in the 60 something years Grafton has been operating. You can count on one hand the amount of African Americans that are employed at the corporate office in Winchester. When my manager left October 2019 I was left with no help from the corporate HR team and left to fend for myself and run the Richmond region alone. I was the most productive out of all regions during COVID. I worked in the office and was never offered to work from home as the Winchester/Berryville locations were informed they could work from home. All my training was through trial and error never was I told when I was doing well, only when I made a mistake in the system. There is no training in any department!!! All Caucasian employees compensation was always reviewed when asked for salary increases. Positions are created for caucasians to receive increases. While African Americans are made to feel they aren’t worthy for certain incentives. I asked to have my compensation reviewed 3 to 4 times, each time I never received a response. I was constantly ignored. No help in any manner. The HR dept had 2 employees pay change within a 60 to 90 day timeframe in the amount of a $10k to 15k increases. African Americans are not trusted in any way. Recommendation—LOOK ELSEWHERE!
