Pros

Great benefits and pension package

Cons

Too much micromanagment. Managers fear losing jobs so training or advancement is minimal. Although some department heads are great, loyalty and committment to other managers must be proven by working late, and coming in early

Great Place To Work!

Pros

I've worked at Grainger over 12 years and think it's a great place to work. I've been treated very fairly by my superiors and beyond. The company recognizes hard work and a job well done. The benefits are great, and every manager I've ever had has been extremely flexible with any work/life issues I've had.

Cons

Sometimes Grainger is slow to change, although that culture is being changed recently. There is a LOT of layers to wade through to get projects done sometimes, and getting approvals sometimes takes a LONG time.
