Does not appreciate hard work and honesty

Pros

The place is clean, orderly, structured. It has a gym. The cafeteria food isn't that bad. You punch in and out right on the dot, so if you like structure, it is a place for you. Nice big windows. Coworkers are relatively polite, I didn't encounter any drama while working there. If all you want to do is go to work and leave then you can do that there.

Cons

I should have realized when I saw everybody leaving at 5 p.m. on the dot en masse that this was not a place where employees felt they could get a lot out if they put a lot in. I was a temp, worked very hard, and was commended by coworkers and my supervisor alike for a good and smart work ethic. I was let go, and I won't go into it, but I still doubt whether it was something other than politics since it seems extreme to let me go so abruptly on such a minor mistake. Accuracy is very important at Granite, but a worker does not know telecom (who the heck does) without learning it, and if the management is not willing to answer questions on a project, then you can't expect a new employee to have all the answers. Regardless, I worked my butt off and was rewarded with a prompt dismissal. I am never working that hard again for a company that says peace so quickly and easily. They don't deserve your hard work ethic.

Pros

Cool Managers, Free Gym, New Office, Foot in the door

Cons

This company clearly has favorites. If you look at all the 4+ star reviews, they are all from either sales or director/executive level people. The pay scale skews heavily towards sales. They have a company-wide meeting dedicated to them every Monday. There is a huge disconnect from what the employees want and what upper management does/gives. They ran annual and quarterly bonuses in 2024. However, in 2025, they stopped running these bonuses without giving employees a reason. They went from 3 days in the office to 4 days in the office. No one wanted this new WFH policy except upper management since it promoted "productivity". My team had more than 7 people leave from my time here and they didn't bat an eye for an additional analyst for us. That led to the remaining team taking on more work with no additional pay. Hard work is not rewarded here. Very limited growth and promotions are based on tenure. The lower tier managers have better ideas but they have no authority to change anything. Leadership is completely out of touch. They say "competitive salary" but it's quite the opposite. The pay is hourly for all entry level positions and it's a non-negotiable wage which is a big red flag. Don't expect any big raises here either. The culture it fosters is to do the bare minimum since there are no incentives which hinders growth in employees. They tend to hire desperate college grads at low wages, burn them out, and then replace them—leading to extremely high turnover. It’s incredibly demoralizing and a slap to the face to see employees underpaid while the CEO donates millions to charity every year. His board members are just yes men because it's his way or the highway. He's wealthy enough (billions) to purchase a stake in the Boston Celtics but all employees get is a laughable $1 per hour raise—if that. Don't be fooled by all the good PR.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at the company did not meet your expectations. We appreciate both the positive notes you shared—such as the gym access, new office space, and supportive managers—and also the areas where you feel we fell short. We recognize that transparency, compensation, and career growth are important to all employees, and we’re actively working to improve in these areas. Decisions around bonuses, compensation structures, and hybrid work policies are made with company-wide goals in mind, but we understand the importance of involving employees in those conversations and providing clarity when changes occur. Turnover and workload are issues we take seriously. While some departments have experienced staffing challenges, we're continuously assessing resource needs and ways to better support our teams. We're also committed to evolving our approach to recognition, career development, and internal communication to create a more rewarding and equitable environment for all. We respect all perspectives and take this kind of feedback as an opportunity to reflect and improve. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to our mission and hope you find a role that aligns better with your expectations and goals.

Pros

Genuinely great co workers. Most team managers are good people and intelligent. Can gain some experience with wide range of network tech. Not much though if you arent self-motivated because there is minimal training and no path for growth

Cons

Horrible pay. Dont believe the fake positive reviews from the last few months. They laid off tons of people. Everyone working for Granite hates the company because its like the executives see the staff as peasants. No promotions. No raises. No growth path. Horrible internal systems. Everything is a constant mess. Infinite tickets. Customers hate you, hate the company. Everything from front to back in the process is messed up because we all have so much work to do that you cant do a good job. Focusing on quality of work will get you fired because youre expected to be a call center rep while being assigned a dozen tickets with no line between the amount of effort it will take from one to the next.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While it’s difficult to hear that your experience at Granite has been frustrating, we appreciate you taking the time to provide an honest and detailed perspective. We’re glad to hear that you found your coworkers and many of our team managers to be intelligent and supportive—that sense of camaraderie is something we truly value at Granite. We also recognize your point about the opportunity to gain technical exposure, and we agree that a self-motivated approach is often key in a fast-paced environment like ours. At the same time, we're deeply sorry to hear that you felt unsupported in terms of training, advancement, and overall workload. The challenges you mentioned—including compensation, internal systems, and role expectations—are taken seriously. Like many organizations, we've had to make tough decisions during times of change, but those decisions are never made lightly and we remain committed to treating all employees with respect.
