Pros

Donate to multiple charities year round. Often buy food for the offices to celebrate goals etc.

Cons

Promotions are constantly denied for management. Senior leadership does not care about how the department is functioning. Reqs for new reps are constantly being denied but the current reps are getting burnt out.

Pros

I had a great direct supervisor and felt sorry for them as so many on my team left.

Cons

I took a job at granite because I graduated close to Covid. In hindsight, I should have been more picky. Granite will hire anyone with a pulse and this is seen with how poorly internal communication is. It was so frustrating being yelled at by customers because The internal teams don't understand complex technologies. The business model relies on our customers being equally as ignorant. There's 3 weeks of "training" where they go over basics or telecom but nothing about ordering or ticketing repairs which is 99 percent of what you do. This leads to having to rely on internal teams to show you what to do, which as mentioned before, are less than helpful. We're encouraged to only solve problem if the customer only points them out. If they're being overcharged- it's not a problem until it is. You will be thrown under the bus. The COO himself says the best clients are the ones who don’t check the bill. Management does not care about you. I had to cancel thanksgiving plans with my family as I was required to be in office while covid was rampant. There's no yearly raises. management touts 1.6 billion yet OPS has trouble paying their rent. There's disdain for those who want to WFH. There's a strange obsession with fitness as the COO made fun of those who like drinking beer and bowling one meeting. It's a thankless job where you will work off the clock. Despite being paid hourly, I was expected to answer emails off the clock for clients on the west coast.

Pros

Met good people at all levels in the company. I became good friends with many of them which is why it was hard to leave. (We're all in this together ♫) vibes. Promising at first and I received raises the first few years. A good place to start. I did enjoy the work. I liked getting emergency orders out because it felt rewarding knowing someone could have internet the next day because of me and the PM/premier would then have a positive experience with the customer.

Cons

Constant stress, doing the work of 2 or 3 people for a couple years. Everyone complains about how awful it is (during and after work) and when assigning work to people I was accused of targeting them and a lot of times people asked me to assign them less. It was just too much work split up between the amount of people we had. Some days it felt like if we weren't able to get an impossible task done someone would die. They're just cell phones and back up routers, honestly. I asked for another raise in my 5th year there. I had taken on a lot of supervisor responsibilities and felt I was worth it. I was told I couldn't get another one because I was already a team lead 2 and there was no level higher than that. I asked if we could get another supervisor position opened for our team, because I would go for it. The team had tripled in size and there was still only one sup. The second sup position was never opened and I never got promoted. I was told not to feel stuck, that there were other places in the company I could go... Truth is I liked mobility except for a lot of the upper management changes and stress on us. I quit and then once I was no longer there to do the work of 2-3 people a supervisor position was opened and filled.
