Busy but fulfilling

Pros

The people are fantastic and the work is interesting.

Cons

With no control over the flow of claims coming in, it can be hard to predict when it can turn busy on a dime and the workload can be challenging until the claims slow down again.

Could be great, but not there yet

Pros

Good PTO, ok benefits, tons of flexibility if you have the right manager. Potential to learn a lot.

Cons

DEI is performative and there is no real commitment or real plans for improvement. Upper management uses lack of formal documentation process when it comes to performance and development against you to not offer advancement opportunities. Those are offered to “the good ole boys”. No formal training for most positions. Lack of consistency for work-life balance depending who you report to. Lack of opportunities for advancement or movement within the company. For the most part, where you are hired in at is where you will stay.

Stay away from claims

Pros

Great place to work as long as it’s not in claims.

Cons

Don’t work in claims unless you want your work to be treated as a liability when compared to the other departments. The Claims Department is and will always be a level or two below the other departments, all the while probably having to deal with 5 times as much … in their jobs. If you are in claims try to get to UW or LP as fast as you can. More respect, more money with less stress and aggravation. From the Managers on down.
