Thank you for your feedback. We know our communities make our schools a special place to learn and thrive. Thanks for being an important part of that. We are aware of the concerns with pay. We have been engaged in ongoing work on this issue for several years despite no significant funding increases from the states in which we operate, and simultaneously we must balance the need to maintain smaller class sizes, robust network resources, and safe and welcoming campuses. Great Hearts does provide excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.), with employee premiums that are significantly below the national and regional averages. In the last year we have worked to make changes and we have increased our salary schedules for the upcoming school year. Moreover, our benefits package is excellent and enhances our compensation package. We will continue to make improvements in this area.

Thank you for your feedback. We know our the best learning environment is one where we have a supportive faculty, staff and administration working well together. Thank you for taking the time to address such an important issue for employees, which impacts our overall health and wellbeing. We expect teachers to set work-life balance boundaries in place in order to avoid over-scheduling additional duties. We do ask teachers to participate and support school activities however it should not be something that regularly interferes with their schedule.

We strive to set a standard of excellence for our students with a focus on a rich liberal arts curriculum and emphasis on moral formation. Thank you for providing us with feedback on the salary scale for teachers and teaching assistants at Great Hearts. We are aware that our salaries are lower than many district schools and some charter schools. We appreciate your constructive comments about the culture at your Great Hearts academy, and we will share these concerns with our executive leadership. While we acknowledge that the culture of each academy may vary slightly, it is our goal to bring alignment and clarity to all academies around the mission to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty.
