Pros

Profitable company, staff and lower level people are great.

Cons

When I left the company it was going through a large management change for the worse. The previous long term management was being thrown out even though they had performed well over the years especially during the financial crises. The new management was making Guardian into just like any other corporation: cutthroat, short term thinking for themselves and treating employees badly.

Pros

There are some great people who work at Guardian.

Cons

Senior leadership seems to know what they are doing - but they aren’t seeing how others are impacted. Nepotism is really a problem. Directs to senior leadership hire their friends (even if they don’t know what they are doing). It’s impossible to navigate since you’re counting on people to manage their friends. These same people continue to hire more friends deepening the problems. Instead of adding layers and firing competent strong marketers - take an honest look at what’s going on. There is constant talk about integrated campaigns and well-being, but employee morale and the ability to do things easily are both taking a hit. Serious changes need to be made to give this organization a shot at rebounding. Until then, don’t trust the story of happily ever after and avoid working for the marketing team until something changes.

Pros

Flexibility with work from home and fair pay.

Cons

I have worked with the company for over a decade and thought I would retire. However, the company has really take a turn and really takes advantage of their employees. For example, after the teams have over delivered, leadership still says the team did not deliver enough. Leadership has shifted from a inclusive and transparent environment to toxic and finger pointing culture. I severely disappointed in the direction of the current environment.
