Pros

Decent pay and not a very difficult job. Job is made more difficult and stressful due to the poor management team and micromanaging.

Cons

It is well-known within the company the Long Term Disability (LTD) is one of the worst departments to work in. Management is a mess...largely due to politics. Moral is at an all-time low. There is an extreme disconnect among departments & even within the LTD dept. Guardian has changed from small groups to large groups of over 1,000 insured and are not equipped to handle this. Mngt is resistant to change & suggestions for improvements.

Pros

Stable and Conservative 150+ year company with solid products. Better than average benefits including pension and profit sharing. Solid benefits and great colleagues.

Cons

Many changes, restructuring, and lay offs with more positions going overseas and to consultants in the past few years creating an uneasy feeling for those employees still working there.
