Extreme Upper Management Problems

Pros

The benefits are generous and working on the campus is convenient.

Cons

There is some serious brainwashing going on here. It’s one of those companies where you’re told everyone is “family” and office events and perks are used to cover up how corrupt the upper management is. The diversity seems great and they’ll sell you on the fact that there are women in leadership positions (it’s only white women holding the executive positions anyway). Room for growth is also limited and there’s a lot of nepotism at play. Salaries are the bare minimum (you could make a lot more doing the same job at a different company) and raises are difficult to come by. The product itself is not well made and is overpriced. Even with an employee discount, it’s not worth shopping the brand. It’s clear the motive for the clothes is to make people look “sexy” in an antiquated way that no one under a certain age will care for. If fashion is your interest, there are lots of companies out there making bigger strides in style and sustainability that would be far more fulfilling to work at. Most importantly, this can be an unsafe place to work as the founder is way too comfortable overstepping basic workplace boundaries and touching his employees/models inappropriately. No one calls him out or stops it. In fact, it’s so normalized that you’ll feel crazy for saying anything. I would recommend doing a quick google search and familiarizing yourself with some of the allegations out there so you can make an informed moral decision about whether you want to work in this environment.

Pros

Discount 40-50% of Merchandise Depend on what store you work for you might get free cloths as part of a contest or meeting sales goals Good job to develop your interpersonal skill dealing with clients both good and bad experience that will develop character.

Cons

Won't have holidays off because those are the busies time for a retail store. 40+ Hour work weeks typically do more like 50 hour. Decent pay, but no room for increase pay without moving up in position You will have to be flexible in schedule as retail job have a lot of no show employee's/management so expect to fill in. No benefits without you paying for them out of your check. A lot of folding and cleaning up/ clothing standards
