Pros

Depending on what team you’re on, the people are really friendly and helpful.

Cons

The associate role is really repetitive, you will do the same thing everyday despite having new projects to work on. It can be really boring, but very stressful at the same time. Management have started micromanaging a lot more in past few months, you will be expected to do a certain amount of calls a week even if it’s not helpful for your target, you don’t really have any autonomy over how you work, and they have become increasingly strict about everyone doing two days a week in the office. Other than hybrid working there is no flexibility. Base pay is low. You can earn a decent amount of commission but it’s really varied depending on what team you’re on. Extra work doesn’t mean extra commission, it’s very luck-based. There is no emphasis at all on professional development or continuous learning. Until they decide to promote you to research manager, you will learn nothing new in the role.

Pros

Flexibility. Salary is fine if you hit the target.

Cons

0 transparency. Unfair promotion. Toxic environment. Lack of leadership. No career path. That CRAZY one is back, making everyone uncomfortable. The talented and nice people left already. Please avoid this company!

Pros

Good starting salary. Colleagues at your level or just above friendly and helpful.

Cons

Work life balance atrocious. People appear to be working across all hours of the night and on weekends. Unless you are firm with colleagues sending you work at the last minute of the day and say you will do it tomorrow you will be working late. People then ask why you were working so late and assume you are inefficient. Emphasis on communication with manager; ends up being a one-way street where you are made to feel stupid for asking any questions. Senior staff spend more time chasing their next commission than assisting with development or giving any advice if you are not hitting target. Talk of holding regular sessions to help improve performance, one session then no follow-up. Patently dislikable and unfriendly senior management who would only reach out to give you an earful. Very quickly began to dread any sort of communication from more senior colleagues. The place is a revolving door. No real interest in helping juniors, sink or swim is the unwritten policy. I started in a team of CS Associates and by the time I had left a few months later it was already down to half. Someone leaving the business practically every week. Just don't bother if you don't like harassing professionals to go on calls at incredibly short notice (within the hour or the next few hours) for pay that they can make in an hour's worth of their current employment as they are all senior professionals with good salaries anyway.
