Pros

The driving core values of Guidepost is what keeps me inspired. It has been an unparalleled experience for me to work with passionate and dynamic families, educators, and administrators. Across the board I have met talented, sincere, and brilliant individuals that help me foster my own skills and strengths. From day one, Guidepost provided engaging and thorough training. There is a great team of mentors and administrators that guide you through challenges along the way and set you up for success. I am thankful for all the growth opportunities Guidepost has presented in my time with them.

Cons

The work can be challenging, but I would not say that that is a con. It helps us grow and it is what makes Guidepost a quality company.

Pros

There are too many pros to list! One of my favorite parts of the day to day work is enjoying the community the staff has created. The head office does such an amazing job hiring passionate, intelligent, and hard-working guides, assistants, and administrative staff at each campus. The thoughtfulness that is reflected in the gorgeous and well-kept classroom environments is also found in the systems and organization in place to support their guides and schools to be successful. In-house curriculum team listens and observes to ascertain areas that need support including curriculum, classroom management, and parent communication. For instance, when parents in my class requested a book list for home reading, I reached out to central office and they created one, saving me hours of research, which can now benefit all guides who teach at my level. In-house and external professional development opportunities are abundant. In two years, I have enjoyed witnessing our mission in action -- several assistant guides have become lead guides through the in-house training. Though I love my current position, it gives me peace of mind to know the opportunities and different pathways available for growth within this expanding group of schools are far greater than at schools of a traditional structure.

Cons

None. Whenever I have a question or encounter a potential problem, there are so many people to reach out to from colleagues and administration to the extensive network of mentors and experienced practitioners at head office. Since I started with Guidepost a little more than two years ago, I have been so pleased with their commitment to maintaining high expectations for quality in their schools and classrooms throughout their ambitious growth across the country.

Pros

Authenticity: Guidepost Montessori is committed to providing an authentic Montessori experience, with attention to the prepared environment and the prepared adult. Their internal training program is extensive, and offers a depth of resources for each stage of development. Highly trained and experienced Montessori mentors are available to help field questions, perform observations and help with other issues as they arise. The classrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, with gorgeous natural materials garnishing each shelf! Accommodating: The Administration and Management are incredibly accommodating and understanding. When I need to take a few weeks off to visit an ill family member oversees, the administration helped accommodate my request (even though that meant I went into negative PTO). This type of compassion and accommodation goes a long way in employers! Over the next year, I earned more PTO, but their understanding to my personal hardship is long-lasting in my memory! Growth Mindset: Guidepost Montessori has a vision, and its no small one. We want to share this type of education with the world! Our schools are opening across the country with everything from pre-school to high schools! I am thrilled to be a part of this growing organization with so much vigor for education! I feel as though I can excel here. Glass doors, but no glass ceilings!

Cons

While a practical idealist, this job is not immune from the typical bothers of a preschool. Turnover is a real issue and creates a staffing shortage or consistency issue in normalized classrooms.
