- Very high turnover in certain roles and departments, which leads to bad (or in some cases, non-existent) onboarding experience. This high turnover can also result in overwhelmed, unfocused and indecisive leadership, which in turn leads to stressed out and scrambling teams with poor work/life balance.
- Siloed departments.
- Lots of meetings (but maybe this is a positive for some?)
- Pay was below competitive market rate when I was there, and the other benefits didn't make up for low base salary.
Bottom line: From what I gathered, your experience at Guitar Center - and whether it ends up being positive or negative - is largely dependent on the team you join. Exercise caution if the team you are joining has high turnover.
