Pros

If you are looking to get some experience under you belt there is an abundance of knowledgeable people you can utilize as resources. Nice office, new computers, great IT department and amazing admins.

Cons

The pay is mediocre. PTO and bonus time are discouraged. Office politics and nepotism are rampant and blatant. The intra-office instant messaging system is incessantly used to gossip, which greatly affects team moral.

I have had the opportunity to work at a few companies in the AEC industry and I couldn't imagine working anywhere else again. First of all, the employees at H2M are wonderful! Everyone is so friendly despite the fact that many of us don’t even know each other since the company has grown so much. However, everyone I have met is driven to work hard and produce the absolute best work project – their passion is evident. In addition, the amount of charitable endeavors that are driven by my coworkers is really inspirational. Secondly, I have been afforded the opportunity to grow in my profession more than I ever thought I would. I find that the company strikes a nice balance between pushing me outside of my comfort zone while making me feel like it is ok if I made a mistake.

Cons

I think everyone is busy and pulled in a lot of directions as a result of the company's growth. Overall, it is not a bad problem to have.

At H2M, the company’s priorities are not in order. H2M does not care about its employees no matter what they say or do. The company is not flexible, doesn’t care enough about women, mental health, focuses on the wrong ideologies constantly. As long as work is getting done in timely manner then the location doesn’t matter. Having the option for flexibility makes for happier employees and sometimes often leading to a better work life balance. (e.g. without commuting for 2 hours a day those extra hours could be utilized getting a project done. Making a healthy meal rather than eating out. Peace and quiet.) Also, upper management always talks about utilization and they tell us all the time but sometimes there isn’t work. They tell workers to drink the cool aid instead of just creating a better work environment.
