Pros

Extremely smart, capable, and kind teammates; exciting mission and visible impact on a massive market in real-time; opportunity to learn a lot quickly; great place for those who thrive in ambiguity and seek opportunity.

Cons

Structure, process, and communication a WIP as company scales; pace can be intense if you're coming from a passive or reactive work environment.

I think this is more than fair feedback and I appreciate you sharing it our way and making the time to write this so candidates can see it too. Appreciate the callout on structure and process, and also the push on ambition and impact. We absolutely have to build more clear communications measures and stronger feedback loops, so thanks for the thoughtful push, too! Sincerely, Katie

Pros

Working at Harvey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far. The people are exceptionally smart, driven, and supportive (it’s a culture where everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed). The strong referral network means you’re constantly surrounded by high-caliber colleagues who push you to level up. Pros: Smart and determined colleagues, continuous learning opportunities, and the ability to influence internal processes and solutions (even as an IC). The company is also continually working to improve its wellness/benefits packages.

Cons

Career paths and progression frameworks are still being formalized (though the company is actively working on this). The environment is fast-paced and might feel demanding if you’re not used to operating independently or getting scrappy.

Pros

- Work with hardworking, intelligent, and supportive colleagues - Work with interesting and global customers (law firms and companies) - Huge market opportunity, which necessitates urgency and intensity in getting things done Harvey is the most fun and intense place I have ever worked, and it is also the most supportive. In terms of fun, colleagues are interesting and interested in each other, and we make the effort to hang out at and outside work. In terms of intensity, if I do an extra task late in the day, a teammate will pick that up and advance the ball almost immediately. The expectations of quality and speed of work are high because the opportunity is there to help prospects and customers realize value through using Harvey. If a need/ask is raised, teammates and leaders will jump in to assist quickly. I always feel like I have a team helping me win at Harvey, and the team members push each other to be the best for our customers. One note for people with families - if you block something on your calendar for an important event (doc appointment, school recital, etc.), teammates will respect that (a senior leader once told someone not to ping me because he knew I was doing something with my daughter). I have worked many places that claimed to be supportive of employees with families, and Harvey is the best at respecting space when you make it clear you need it.

Cons

- The intensity and urgency is not for everyone. If you want to work 9-5, then Harvey is not for you. - If you do not want to receive continuous feedback from growth-oriented teammates and leaders, then Harvey is not for you.

Thanks so much for writing this. I sincerely appreciate the note for folks with families because I think the intensity of a startup can be daunting to people who want to prioritize both work and life outside work, so thanks in particular for calling out that specific note. I very much appreciate you calling out the guidance on investing in post-sale teams and EPD and the totally fair push on listening to customers. Appreciate your team and all you do! -Katie
