Hackensack Meridian Health reviews

From a nursing point of view, Hackensack University Medical Center falls very short. From the outside, you will hear nurses describe it as a "bullying culture." This is too true. But it goes farther than that. This bullying culture takes many shapes and forms, with unit staff literally managing their managers. Misplaced managerial hires are rampant which has caused extraordinarily high turnover. The hospital has yet to take seriously that all of this negatively effects the patients, their care, their feelings of safety and their ability to strongly heal. Travel nurses abound because they take a "business" approach rather than a "community" approach. Honestly, I can't blame them as this is a good way to slough off the toxic environment. HR is disfunctional, otherwise they would be repairing the damage being caused. I was quite ashamed of, and embarrassed for them. I resigned, like so many, and had my next (and most wonderful) nursing position one week later.

Salary is low for what they demand. Over the last 2 years people have made sacrifices and worked long hours to help others. The joke is they said they are giving us a 1 year only -3% crap raise (instead of the 2% crap raise they usually give). This is a joke, yet they think it is something great. Leaders are clueless, inflation is sky high and they want us to be happy with a pathetic 3% raise after the last 2 years. Gas is almost $5 a gallon, Supermarket and other stores prices have gone up considerably and you can't buy a sandwich and drink for lunch for under $10- yet they think 3% is great- what a joke. It is like spiting in a wind storm. If you want to get paid and feel appreciated- go work someplace else. Oh and what a surpruse turnover is extremely high.
