Pros

Most of my coworkers are hardworking and I enjoyed working with them. We do little things to try to make it feel like we are a family (not that the managers ever contribute or participate).

Cons

Management plays favorites; they are very cliquey and too bad if you are not on their good side. It's impossible to take off when you want or need to. Management talks down to the little people; they know the economy is bad and constantly remind us we are replaceable. They micromanage us; they sit in their office and watch us work, then they will come out to boss you around. We have half a dozen supervisors in our department, all running around saying different things, each one with different ideas about every minute detail of how we should work, how the workflow should be. They sit in their offices and spy on us all day, then they each come out and complain about how we are working and try to correct us, sometimes contradicting what another supervisor tells us to do. They tell us what time to go to lunch. If it is overly busy, they won't let you go to lunch, even if you came in at 6 am and it is already 1pm. We are constantly shortstaffed because everyone hates working here. We are forbidden from telling anyone else outside our department that we are shortstaffed when they ask us why the orders are taking so long to come out. I am sure they would whip and beat us if it weren't illegal to assault your employees- "why can't you work faster, you pharmacy monkey."

Pros

Great team members and the ability to work from home. That’s all that kept me there for so long.

Cons

Leadership changes within the department caused a mass exodus of team members in a matter of months. Hiring freezes leaving the department severely understaffed with no end in sight. Unmanageable workload that keeps on growing. Supervisors will micromanage if you mention the workload is unbearable but won’t step in and help. Senior leadership is unwilling to take feedback on supervisors and glosses over the challenges within the department. Lack of on the job training will leave you struggling to keep up with the ever increasing demands of leadership. Overtime is strongly encouraged and used as a solution for short staffing. If you don’t work overtime expect your performance to suffer and for supervisors to discriminate against you for not working extra hours to make their metrics look better. Supervisors will talk down to you and lie constantly to cover their shortcomings.

Pros

Great place to learn. I worked in the blood bank where we saw stuff that most hospitals only read about in text books.

Cons

Horrible management, very controlling superiors. They tell you when to take a break. Just not a great place to work. I came into this hospital because it was my dream to work there but resigned after six months because I was loosing sleep at night because of the unnecessary stress.
