Pros

The only pro is your first week when everyone is nice to you...then you realize the hostile work environment you are in.

Cons

Very mean owner that berates his employees at the end of most days by sending out hateful emails. No constructive criticism, no training or mentoring, no nothing; just mean tirades and temper tantrums from the multimillionaire owner from up on his throne. Best part is that the owner isn't even part of the management or operations of the company. This company turns over between 60 and 130 people a year and the company is only 210 people total. They have a complete disregard for careers and utilizing people's talents. If you get hired to do one thing, just wait, within days you'll be doing whatever management wants you to do. There is no reporting structure or productive work environment. They have a poor reputation in all industries. The owners could care less about safety and or reporting safety.

Pros

Worked at HHCI many years and saw many changes. Every company has its good and bad side. Overall a good place to work. Friendly environment, employees willing to help each other out. Always looking to make sure the company has a good reputation and to expand the business. Upper management generally approachable. They look for employees they feel have potential, mentor them and promote from within. If you are a hard worker willing to put in hours, you will do well. If you lie on your resume, try to pass your work to others, or are lazy you will not last long.

Cons

Benefits could be better for a company for this size (401K but no matching funds, covering your family for heath benefits is expensive). Clerical/office workers tend to be underpaid (typical in male dominated construction industry). "Clicky" feel to some promotions and bonuses. President want to be involved and see everything, but does not have the time which can slow things up.

Pros

Good benefits. That's about it.

Cons

MANY! Turn over is ridiculously high. You see people come and go like crazy. Everyone is overworked and miserable, have seen people cry several times. Management only focused on keeping the company affloat and doesn't care about their employees - everyone is replaceable to them. The few people who remain are the ones who can't find another position due to lack of degree and feel stuck.
