Pros

There are some talented and intelligent coworkers. The kitchen is full of good snacks.

Cons

The tech org is a revolving door and I have never seen bright, motivated employees burned out so fast. Management is incompetent. I have been highlighting things that I need to be successful in my role for months and I have not seen any significant changes. On top of that, when I push for positive change, I am told that I am out of line. Many of the teams and partners that I work with are grossly incompetent or extremely unmotivated/absent which makes it a painful process working with them. I sit in many hours of useless meetings that have no clear objective, other than to pat others on the back for the mediocre job that they are doing. There is no clear direction or vision for the products or company. There are countless things that we do just to say that we did them without a reason why or measurable goals. If you work here and care about doing good work you will be belittled, lied to, and given the run around until all of your optimism is snuffed out.

Pros

The greatness: people, culture, workspace, snacks, benefits, work/life balance

Cons

It’s so incredibly heartbreaking to see how Hallmark corporate is killing the soul of Hallmark Labs. Anything forward-thinking, delivering results, profitable, etc. has been shut down or transitioned to people in KC with no tech experience and track records of failure. Future-looking "innovative" projects are officially a running joke of the entire office.

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your concerns. As you know, Hallmark recently experienced a historic change in leadership at the corporate level, which has resulted in some strategic shifts at Labs. We understand that change is not always easy, but Core Staff are committed to providing consistent communication and offering Labsters multiple ways to ask questions.

Pros

Lax PTO policy. Some great people to work with across all departments as well as the line employees. The atmosphere is relaxed overall, unless you're an executive at the company - The CEO is constantly breathing down their necks. The place is even more relaxed when the CEO is not there, because the place is run better when he's not around.

Cons

The CEO. It's hard to understand how a business that seems like its in constant start-up mode is still around. He has seems to have no understanding of how to develop a company (hence the constant start up mode), nor how to nurture and grow talent. Generally speaking, there is a revolving door at the company and turnover is very high across all levels.
