Pros

Hannaford is an established and reputable company with numerous stores across several states. Hannaford also typically offers competitive benefits packages to its employees, which may include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. The culture in some stores, thanks to good management is still relatively not toxic.

Cons

Low Wages and they prioritize short-term financial gains that overlook the long-term benefits of building strong relationships with customers and employees. Limited Advancement Opportunities: Despite offering opportunities for growth, upward mobility may be limited in some cases due to a hierarchical structure or a large number of employees competing for higher-level positions. Irregular Hours: Hannaford's often require employees to work irregular and unpredictable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, which can make work-life balance difficult. I left the company because they gave me no time to get my schooling done. The quality of management can vary from one store to another, with some locations experiencing poor leadership, lack of communication, or ineffective management practices. Their Policies and practices prioritize efficiency and productivity over empathy and understanding, leading to a perceived (and factual) lack of compassion.

Pros

The ONLY pros I can find with this place is the other employees you work with can be awesome and fun. The pay for a grocery store was also competitive.

Cons

The management engages in unethical behavior, will deliberately try to make people quit their jobs, don’t view confidentiality as important when speaking with HR. Hannaford is a horrible company who will allow management and “lifers” to get away with just about anything.
