Pros

None. This company is all about profit. No work/life balance. No fairness in scheduling/no williness to change because the profit is more important than the people

Cons

Poor executive leadership means poor store leadership. This company treats associates like robots that fill their "slots" to serve their greed and ambition.

Pros

Flexible work schedule. Unlimited sick time as a salaried manager was nice.

Cons

I worked for this company for a long time. It was awful. Towards the end, I was calling my s.o. on the phone crying because I was so miserable. I gave my notice and left the company without another job in place (which was incredibly scary, but life is too short to be miserable). The health benefits are terrible. Large deductible. Management is lazy and always comes in late and leaves early. HR manager stayed in their office all day and treated people so poorly I couldn't fathom how they still had a job. As a salaried manager, you are expected to work late/come in early and could never leave early or come in late another day. When I worked 12 hour days, I was getting paid less than my hourly associates because I was salaried and only getting paid for 9 hours. I understand a long day here and there, but this was happening every few days. Management wouldn't have any sympathy and would just shrug you off. On my last day of work I didn't even get a card, just a lousy cake placed on my desk that said "best wishes." They didn't even care about losing me as a hardworking employee, but would always harp on me about how we need to treat our employees better so they don't quit. The training program is terrible. They essentially throw you into a job and expect you to learn everything as you go and become an expert in no time. Employee recognition consisted of getting a pizza party or having meatball subs (where everything was Hannaford ingredients). Honestly, don't work here. I will never go back.

Pros

+Good people +Easy location to find

Cons

-Inflammatory employees are not held accountable for lack of work quality or tardiness. -Middle-management is suffocated between insubordinate workers and indifferent upper-management. -Insubordinate workers are rewarded by not being made to do tasks they dislike, forcing co-workers to pick up the slack and be cornered into doing the same unfavorable tasks night after night. -Some employees show up to work not sober, and are not sent home. -Not enough workers are hired in proportion to the amount of business the store does. -Necessary tools for the job, such as utility boats, step stools, and pallet jacks are not properly maintained nor purchased when damaged ones are thrown out. -Atmosphere of the entire store is unpleasant. Departments are uncooperative with each other as they are all fighting over the same previously mentioned tools. -Training is non-existent. From the top to the bottom of the hierarchy, employees are not trained in their respective duties. This a daily problem, but becomes apparent when trained employees call out and untrained employees are unable to operate necessary equipment. -Communication between middle and upper-management is non-existent. Upper managers do not explain new policies, give updates on new equipment or internal applications, or when new employees are starting.
