Pros

Insurance benefits, 30 minute lunch, can choose start time and end time (8 hours), around 30 day PTO which includes sick time

Cons

Difficult population. Lack of resources due to budget. Projects are “encouraged” but productivity takes priority, low pay compared to other facilites, low show rate reflecting negatively on productivity. Marketing of services. Academy memberships “encouraged” but not covered. Never ending projects. No bonuses, no promotions. In natural disasters when clinics are closed, days off deducted from PTO

Pros

Autonomy and Laid back management, once youre in good graces with management you have a lot of freedom. Pay and benefits are very competitive. Easy place to work once you fit in (fitting in is difficult)

Cons

Constant rules and initiatives are implemented with little to know follow up and follow through. Patient population is brutal, worst in the city. Security is a joke. No protection from security in the EC and is extremely unsafe working conditions. Very easy for patients to circumvent non-existent security personnel. Staff throughout hospital move very slow! everything takes forever which makes patients very upset. Many errors caused by bureaucracy, nothing improves. Ben taub will forever be slow and difficult place for patients and staff.

Pros

Great starting place, government job

Cons

Raises used to be great (left because no raise in 3 years), WILL NOT pay overtime (they make you come in late or take longer lunch --even for 3 minutes), low moral, supervisors constantly remind you they don't need you, constantly closing pharmacies so you never know when your job is at stake, they will lie and force you to work other places, forced several employees while I was there into early retirement, constantly implementing policies to cause employees to commit insurance fraud
