Pros

PTO - 2 weeks Sick - 2 weeks

Cons

They act like they care, but they don't. There is no collaboration and no support. Accounting had to do what Purchasing dept refused to do ( clean up data for new system). Training was terrible. Employee will be nitpicked for any and all mistakes. There's no support and when asked for additional training, provided recommendations on what can the team do to assist, recommendation was knocked off the table and told "accounting is accuracy and attention to detail". They refused to acknowledge the harassment and toxic environment after many discussions. So many other things to list, but do NOT work for this company. TOXIC environment. No TEAM support. No proper training. You're expected to know the organization within 90 days! Part of the 90 days is: meeting the team and getting to know them. They fail to introduce you to the people you're working with. It is YOUR responsibility to initiate these meetings and grow your own relationships. Boss is timid and does not step up. Boss also allows herself to be harassed by her employees. Which is unacceptable!

Thank you for writing this review. We are sorry to hear that you have had a negative culture experience at Harris. This is not reflective of our values. As Harris has grown and changed, we have experienced growing pains as we bring team members across the company under a single mission statement. We are always looking for areas to improve upon and we appreciate your feedback. We encourage anyone who is experiencing a toxic work culture to discuss their concerns with their direct supervisor and Human Capital.

Pros

This review is from someone new to the company but not the industry. My mechanical construction career spans over 40 years with seven (7) different companies, some good and some not so good. This time span has given me a well-rounded perspective on what drives companies to succeed and to fail, as I have experienced both. First and foremost, companies are only as good as the ownership/management that supports them, the ones providing the leadership that walks the walk, not providing just talk. Employees see right through fake leadership and nothing takes a company down quicker than ineffective ownership/management producing disgruntled employees. My employment here at Harris happened by chance, wasn’t something I had searched out, nor was I looking for, but let me tell you, it has been the best thing that has happened to me in the construction industry in my over 40 years. I see that Harris has an effective ownership/management team in place with the goal of being the best! I see where this goal has attracted a group of talented employees who want to be the best and work as a team driving forward to indeed be the best. This is something rare in not only today’s construction, but in the overall history of construction. All you need do is open the computer to “HarrisHUB” and read the happenings throughout the different locations. You can’t help but get excited about the level of projects Harris is currently performing and previously performed and be in amazement at the quality talent level that has been attracted as a result. When a company has a culture challenging the individual to be his or hers best while also rewarding those efforts, what else is there! Success breads more success and the need for quality talent increases along with it. For the individual having that mechanical aptitude coupled with that drive to succeed, Harris will provide the tools and the excitement for you reach the top. If YOU have that drive to succeed, welcome to the Harris Team and look forward to seeing you soon!
