Toxic company, avoid !

Pros

Solid open source community and technology, which is used widely through the Enterprise.

Cons

Greg Luck is an inept CEO, who has no idea how to run a company, who also is primarily a part time ceo, who "works" from Australia most of the time. He has surrounded himself with yes men, washed up executives, and jaded negative admins. Extremely political environment that does not allow for contrary views. No leaders, just an executive team of lackeys and henchmen.

Pros

1) The CEO has a solid vision for the company. 2) Operationally, Hazelcast is maturing every day it is now ready to make the next leap. 3) Very friendly staff who are always ready to help. 4) Solid Product that values quality and reliability as opposed to "some" competitors who throw the kitchen sink of features, but have very shallow depth of quality and are often unproved in production, unlike Hazelcast. 5) Good place to learn and work on complex distributed computing for engineers.

Cons

1) The team is spread all over the world which sometimes makes it hard to communicate, but on the whole most departments are close enough in one time zone.

Pros

Superior talent from all over the world. Experienced and knowledgeable managers. I will learn a lot here and advance my career. The atmosphere and culture at Hazelcast is an energetic and determined one, with an emphasis on teamwork and camaraderie. Active lifestyle is encouraged. Managers play basketball, tennis and soccer on a regular basis.

Cons

Mid-Peninsula is a tough place to get to from just about anywhere. CalTrain is slow and crowed. East Bay and South Bay employees struggle with the absurd traffic.
