Pros

great portfolio of carrier products to sell, and some of the better commissions for ancillary products in captive agencies around.

Cons

Junior and middle managers tend to be hired and promoted right out of training classes with no experience in the field, and often have no understanding of the products, and provide very little assistance to the employees they're supposed to be helping. It creates an incredibly stressful sink or swim environment, where more experienced agents are overwhelmed with training the new agents and being taken off the phones and unable to make sales because the managers are too incompetent to do their jobs.

Pros

Nothing good to say about this company.

Cons

I'll tell you about my experience which is 100% real! I was terminated from hpone one in July 2019 but I was not hostile about that now I manage a larger company and make over 100k a year so no hard feelings. Anyways I worked there for 6 months and first the training is just ridiculous whether you are experienced or not they make you suffer through this long boring training to teach things you may already know. I was Number 1 the top producing broker in that office and more I hit that entry bonus but they made some excuse to not pay me of course and because I was the best people started giving me dirty looks and spreading childish rumors, etc. I took it to the manager who did absolutely nothing. So I started to feel uncomfortable being there I asked to work from home but they kept making the time frame longer and making it seem impossible so I started to come to work less, I ended up getting sick and was out of it for a month they gave told me after a month to come in the next day at 830 or whatever and I came at 10 and the hr said she had to let me go because I seemed too sick to work and it would seem like favoritism if they didnt let me go LOL! So what happened to the employees that were bullying me? Yea you don't want to work there trust me!! There are companies out there that respect you and dont lie and tell you their flexible and full of culture, dont believe that nonsense hpone doesnt care about you.

Not what recruiter promised

Pros

Decent enough base salary and remote work

Cons

Training was HORRENDOUS! This is where HPOne completely dropped the ball. They have super star agents training, but they are NOT good trainers. Good people...great sales agents...horrible trainers. Not just myself, but a book of the new hires raised these concerns to management. Over 60% of new hires were gone in a couple of months. I know...we all kept in touch. I was just completely and utterly let down.

Pros

Excellent training and benefits. Supervisors have a positive approach. They don't treat you like just a number. The company embraces diversity and offers a pleasant and motivating work environment. Working virtually resulted in a great work-life balance.

Cons

The position will probably change after AEP.

Pros

They give a pretty decent base pay, health benefits, and 401K, etc.

Cons

Limited communication between managers, also it is hard to find support if needed when taking calls during AEP as they are also answering calls and has a weak training program.

Pros

They put you for training that lasts about three months. They also pay for licensing and appointments which doesn’t make sense for how quick they will fire you but hey gotta look at the positives... right?

Cons

Everything. When I first started working there I thought this was a stable job where they actually cared about keeping their employees, and when I read all the terrible Glassdoor reviews & Indeed reviews, my first thought was that those people were just slacking... so I took a chance because I said to myself I’m an overachiever and I can do the work!! I was W R O N G! I have worked my butt off to pass all the tests and things they want you to take, only for you to become disposable. Unorganized doesn’t even begin to cover the lack of structure in this company. The supervisors are all Not knowledgeable, and they are very hostile. One day they tell you to do one thing, the next day someone will tell you to do the absolute opposite. They will make you feel like if you aren’t performing that it’s something you’re doing, instead of taking responsibility for company errors. It was very disheartening to have many supervisors ask you to skip your lunch or your break. This is a COLD CALLING job, I found 80% or more of the clients we called had no idea we were calling, or were very angry by the calls so it made it hard to get sales without pressuring or forcing people to enroll in the policies. I found lots of people doing anything to “get the sale” and this really explains why the health care system is the way it is in America, because you have companies like this who swindle their employees and customer into thinking they’re “doing good things” and “helping people” when that is not the case. They will ask you to skip lunches, breaks, and over-work yourself to “meet the goals” which for many are impossible to meet. They use the “top performers” to make an example out of those who aren’t performing instead of focusing on those areas and showing you personally how to overcome them. It’s THE single worst company I’ve ever worked with and I’m so disappointed in how disposable they treat their employees.
