Pros

- We're at the leading edge of a new category, and you can feel it. The whole company is genuinely connected to the product. The passion for where we're going is everywhere, and it makes this a fun place to work. - The people are the best part ("of course", I know, but it's true!). Smart, low-ego, hungry. We challenge each other, we're data-driven, and we actually use the product we're building. It's a culture that many companies aspire to but don't achieve. We have it. - Meeting-light and async-friendly. I've been at companies where you're in a meeting before the meeting before the meeting. Hex is not that. We're efficient with our time and focus on the areas that drive the biggest impact. - Actually AI-forward, not just in a marketing way. Everyone from the top down wants to find new tools, break old playbooks, and work smarter. It's rare to be at a company that genuinely understands AI and leans into it.

Cons

- The ambition outpaces the headcount. Small team, massive goals. There's no shortage of high-impact work. There's a shortage of hours. - Uncharted territory comes with the job. We're not running established playbooks here. If you need a clear precedent to feel confident, this will be uncomfortable. If you're okay with trying things that have never been tried and being wrong sometimes, it fits. - The product moves fast. Features, capabilities, and messaging evolve constantly. Staying current takes real, ongoing effort.

Pros

Hex is an exceptional place to be a designer. The quality bar is high and people care deeply about craft across the org. You’re surrounded by thoughtful, opinionated collaborators who value design and see is as a business differentiator. Designers are trusted, challenged, and asked to do some of the best work of their careers.

Cons

Because the bar is so high, the work can sometimes feel subjective and high-pressure. There’s a lot of attention on getting every detail right across many touchpoints, which can be intense at times. This is not a “move fast and be sloppy” environment. This is explicitly a feature, but it can also be demanding.

Pros

- culture is great. esp as a remote employee, the company does a lot in the way of benefits, off sites, fun remote stuff to make me feel part of the team - if you show you're capable of operating proactively and independently, there is 0 micro-management and good recognition of your work - company is full of intelligent, creative, funny people that are a delight to work with - a lot of freedom to work on what's interesting to you - product vision and execution is top tier. feels like i lucked out and am at a scalable, successful business - work life balance ebbs and flows but is generally one of the better experiences in my career

Cons

- salary and equity are good but could be more (according to market research on here and other company review/aggregation sites) - sometimes we sacrifice immediate customer needs/roadmap for vision and growth roadmap. that can be tough on customer facing teams
