Company acquisitions can be bad!

Pros

Great experience overall working in an international company with offices around the world. Benefits and salary slightly above average.

Cons

The Hexagon Mining buyout of Mintec, Inc brought a lot of negatives with it: 1. Employee/Employer relationship was significantly reduced (ie you're just a number now); 2. No guarantee of employment once a mining downturn hits; 3. No bonuses, perks, etc as there used to be; 4. Incredibly difficult to advance your career here.

Pros

The product is good right now (it won't be soon) and the staff you work with each day are as helpful as they allowed to be

Cons

President openly shames the company in front of all staff. Blames everyone but himself for the disaster that he has created Morale sucking environment No pay rises No bonuses "When salespeople run tech giants, it's over" - Steve Jobs

Pros

One or two of the 62 managers are quality people. All the ground level technical people are first class, for now. The software has always been fairly good, but it is improving.

Cons

This place is bleeding talent due to stress and fear based management. No raises for years and the benefits have been slashed. The senior technical staff has been cut in half, twice. The paths for career growth in the technical field are nonexistent. The motivation for doing well is to make it through the next set of layoffs.
