Beware AEs!!!

Pros

Cool product, colleagues are nice, events are fun to work.

Cons

They fire AEs, Sales Managers, and BDRs so much in the US that it's comical. You do not get a chance or the time to be successful, if your territory isn't familiar with "bob." You will be promised inbounds at a much higher clip than provided. They quote 70%/30% inbound/outbound activity is needed to be successful. You will receive the opposite at most, 30%/70% inbounds/outbound. The rich keep on getting rich while the poor starve and get fired...

Thank you for your review. It touches on several core aspects of the job and we’ll do our best to offer clear and honest feedback on each point. HiBoB, as a brand, is a startup. Like all startups, we have challenging goals. These goals, however, are based on strategic objectives which are informed by market dynamics. Sales quotas are designed to be challenging too, and like other sales organizations, our quotas are ambitious. While we have challenging goals, we have also lowered them in consideration of feedback from the sales team and current market conditions. And for a more balanced response, it’s important to note that we have very successful salespeople working in the US, evidence that while the AEs may have ambitious quotas, they are attainable. When we onboard salespeople, we do so to build successful teams. Sales performance, like performance in any other department in any other company, is tracked regularly. It’s the only effective way to work towards goals. And as with all businesses and sales organizations, performance gaps must be addressed and decisions are always made with care, and with the consideration of objective performance criteria at hand. Furthermore, we have taken steps to clarify performance standards so Bobbers know exactly how their performance is being measured and to increase alignment going forward.

Great tech stack for the sales rep. They don't pinch pennies on providing the tools needed to perform your responsibilities. Awesome colleagues, even better managers,

Cons

Not sure where to begin...I guess at the top. The executive team has zero clue what they are doing. Talk about insanity. They keep hiring and firing AEs and praying for a different result. You're promised 70% inbound leads you get about 10-15%. This didn't bother me much, but you have to take this into account and adjust the quotas. I closed the most in the US in q3 and was laid off before q4 even ended. It's a company that claims they help and retain your most valuable assets (your people) but yet they can't retain any of their people. In addition, I had no warning, no PIP, just laid off 3 days before the holidays...

Pros

People, Managers, CEO, product are all good.

Cons

Upper management is terrible. Everything feels like a bureaucracy. Anything below the CEO and above the sales managers is just rotten. I never felt like they truly wanted me to succeed. Whether ripping your Gong calls or getting on deals and destroying them because they want to save pennies it just isn't conducive to success in the Americas. I keep in contact with all the current sellers and they can't stand it. Really is becoming a sinking ship.

Thank you for your review - this is a difficult read for us. We have gone through a lot of change as we grow past 1000 bobbers globally, and as we scale into a truly global organization, our process and ways of working have had to adapt and change. The environment you describe isn’t the type of environment that represents our value and as a management team is something we work extremely hard to improve and make inclusive for all bobbers.
