Pros

Solid compensation and benefits package, competitive to other SaaS companies

Cons

They often preach the idea of "bringing your whole self to work," but when it comes to upper management, there's a conspicuous absence of clear, transparent discussions about performance. It's an environment where you're expected to shoulder the workload of three individuals, yet when you make strategic decisions to allocate your time effectively and streamline your tasks (aka- no time for water cooler conversations, constant happy hours, team events, etc that suck up so much time at home), you find yourself facing the risk of termination.

Thank you for your review. This is a difficult read for us as it goes against multiple aspects of the culture that we are aiming to build here at HiBob around the globe. Life/work balance is extremely important to us and we acknowledge that sometimes in a High Growth environment, work can quickly become extremely busy. We would encourage you to raise these concerns with your manager as soon as possible so we can work together to resolve these concerns.

Sales in USA-AWFUL

Pros

You get experience fairly quickly if you need to ramp up your sales experience. Fun product to show and cool tools to get acquainted with to help with your future jobs.

Cons

As a relatively new entrant in the US market with a unique name, hibob is facing challenges in gaining traction and expanding its customer base as expected. Despite putting in a lot of effort, progress has been slow and there have been few leads and new customers. Furthermore, the compensation provided by the company to its salespeople is not competitive, which is surprising given that hibob has secured several rounds of funding. Many lies from multiple people in the company and multiple people being fired for no real reason other than not being the right fit. a hand full of folks were fired a few days before Christmas and heard some even had HR complaints out that fell on deaf ears and then they ended up fired. TERRIBLE for an HR-focused company

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our product grows as we grow. Going into any new market is a challenge, but we have made huge strides with our product by listening to our US-based prospects and customers, and we have confidence in our ability to bring our vision to the US. We have received great reviews and feedback for our product from our US customers too. We constantly aim to provide competitive compensation across Hibob as this is at the heart of looking after our bobbers and treating everyone fairly. The compensation we offer is constantly benchmarked and reviewed at a local level by our people & finance teams, taking into account the external market. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your compensation and are a current employee, please do get in touch with your people partner. We also carry out regular employee surveys throughout the year to identify and act on our bobber’s feedback. In the most recent surveys we have had strong feedback scores on our teams feeling a sense of pride, intent to stay with the business and the belief that Hibob has a great future. We aim to be transparent with our sales teams about how their performance is measured so that decisions can be made on an objective basis. This is taken into account with performance and management reviews. Our people team are dedicated to make sure the wellbeing of all bobbers is the number one priority during any review process. Overall we are committed to growing in the US and it is a key market for us moving forward.

It's a mess.

Pros

Many of the people are truly wonderful...but everyone ends up leaving because of the toxic culture

Cons

For a company that claims to be all about culture, the work environment is comically bad. They claim to support flexibility but provide absolutely no leeway. They force an in-office culture despite claiming to believe that "the world of work has changed" and "remote work is the future" (their own words). Sales quotas are unattainable and they constantly lie to employees, claiming "no layoffs!" right before laying off a quarter of the the team with no warning. They dangle promotions above people's heads and then claim that there was never any planned path to promotion. There is no strategy, they throw things at the wall and see what sticks, and when it doesn't they blame the employees. They can't keep employees and it's a revolving door. And HR and management are not there to support you. You have no one but your own team who are suffering alongside you.

Thank you for your review. We really do have an amazing group of people at Hibob. We take all your concerns seriously and we want to let you know what we are doing to combat them. Hibob is committed to providing a flexible work environment for all. All of our sites operate a hybrid model in working. We consulted with our bobbers and found that having some in person time with each other is essential for connection and creativity, whilst keeping all the many positives of remote working. We are investing in our offices as we see a huge benefit in human interaction, and we know how important the sense of belonging to each one of us as humans. We have also introduced our global ‘work from anywhere policy’ which allows bobbers to work anywhere in the world for 2 months of the year. We recently lowered quotas in the Americas in response to feedback from sales leadership and in consideration of current market conditions. We’re also very transparent with sales teams about how their performance is measured so that decisions can be made on an objective basis. We are constantly aiaming to improve our product and adapt to changing markets, which is something that is a big focus for us in 2023 as we grow through the current economic headwinds. We are also committed to all bobbers being able to grow a career at Hibob and we want to give everyone the opportunity to grow in whichever direction they want to. We recognise that as a growing business we don’t always get this right. But we have introduced out ‘HiGrowth’ review process with the emphasis being on how we can get you to where you want to be. Our people team and managers are there to support all bobbers in the strictest confidence. It concerns us that you feel this isn’t the case.
