Pros

Lively and fast changing. Excellent product and lovely office with lots of social events. Lots of well meaning people who do believe that positive culture is important.

Cons

Although most people are nice and believe the company values, the ones who are not nice... can be really awful...but they are good at their jobs. You can be great at your job but a very nasty person and do very well here. I think that the worst type of company is the kind that shouts loudly about culture and values of inclusion and diversity then harbours the most toxic behaviours, gaslights employees, visibly and disproportionally promotes certain people based on demographics (native languages spoken, gender etc.) and ignores everyone else. It's like a 1980 office dystopia wrapped in a shiny modern tech company shell. Serious cracks in their humanity a few times by enforcing arbitrary rules and disregarding the personal circumstances of individuals. Hierarchy is real, I don't mean by job role and level, I mean by internal politics based on who you are, your gender, your colour, your connections. If you are a high-functioning sociopath, you'll do very well here.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We take your comments on gender, race & inclusivity very seriously as this goes against everything that Hibob stands and believes in. If you are a current employee we would encourage you to raise these concerns to your people team as no one should feel like they are in this environment. We are proud of our gender diversity with 45% of our team women and several employees feeling comfortable to openly identify as non-binary. The experience of our bobbers, from all backgrounds is very important for us. As we have grown to over 750 Bobbers over the past few years, this has meant that there has been a lot of work and time undertaken to mature our sales process. This has meant that some growing pains have occurred along the way, but it ultimately means our sales teams can perform at their very best and ensure Hibob continues to grow in the most efficient and sustainable way possible. The creation of our values was a world wide initiative, involving over 100 bobbers from all backgrounds and teams. We are very aware and focussed on having values that aren’t just ‘posters on a wall’ - it is now becoming part of our DNA across the business.

Pros

Location and having free days off

Cons

Upper management is good but everyone below is toxic and inexperienced. They promote managers based on time in the company, not on competence, leadership, or charisma, which leads to managers who basically don't know anything, aren't helpful at all, have no sense of direction and ask stupid questions in every meeting. Pay is low and no matter how good you are or how much time you'll put in you won't get proper pay. The product is just a form tool for HRs, so they say that they have tens of thousands of users but in reality, it's just a few hundred, worldwide, the workers of companies don't really count because they can't do much in the system. They also take downtime and problems in prod as if its the end of the world, as if someone not being able to view their orgchart is mission critical, life or death situation. There's a lot of hidden unemployment, obviously considering incompetent lower managers. The lead architect left, and several very important people left. They also try to get into the US market unsuccessfully for several years now, which is very concerning.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good experience working at HiBob. This is a difficult review to read as it goes against the culture and business that we are striving to build and create. We are a growing global business so we know this comes with some growing pains and we constantly want to get better.

Pros

Office is great and that’s all

Cons

Progression is rubbish, they will happily make you miserable enough to want to leave but promise that there will be no redundancies, clever. So many of my team have now left the company. Not one person hits target as a bdr, commission structure is terrible. They have introduced new KPI’s which are unattainable considering how many other things we are expected to do whilst AE’s sit there demanding more. Everyone has the same target and they don’t take into account that some regions such as Nordics are a lot easier to work with. The salary is rubbish, if you look at how much other companies are paying, hibob are getting away with it because they hire fresh out of uni people who haven’t got a clue. Don’t be fooled by the “culture”, there isn’t one unless you count Thursdays happy hour then great. There are 3 sales managers for the SDR’s and BDR’s and only one of them is good, he needs a raise. They have been losing great team members and the team has gotten smaller overall and the office dynamic is awful. It was two days a week in the office, one mandatory team day and one optional and now they have made agendas for two days so you have to go in for both and cannot choose the second day anymore. I dread going into the office now. I will be looking for other companies to work for because I have seen how they have treated other sdr’s and bdr’s and it’s a matter of time before I’m next.

We’d like to point out that top management reads every single review and responds personally. We’d like to assure you we have zero control over who posts reviews on this platform, nor what they decide to post. We can only respond to it as honestly and transparently as we can. We’re fully aware that there have been issues in some departments and are working hard to resolve them. The steps we are planning to take will be shared with the relevant departments and their full input will be considered before any final decisions are made. We’re trying our best to ensure that we don’t lose good people. We’re sorry you felt that airing your concerns here was your only recourse and that’s why we want you to know that we took note of every word. We are only empowered to act when we have all the facts at our fingertips and can make informed decisions with the people involved. We strongly urge you to reach out to your direct manager or your People & Culture Partner to share your concerns with them directly. We’d like to know that your concerns have been addressed, you enjoy coming to work each day, and feel that you have a future with the company.
