Pros

The positives of working here are the flexible working, although I'm not sure if this is the same across all departments. The team on the ground are a great bunch of people, although the average age is really low which limits business experience. I think this is a great place to work if you're straight out of uni / junior and not looking to develop as a manager. The founders (CEO and CTO) are genuinely world class entrepreneurs.

Cons

As mentioned above - all management decisions are made outside of the UK. The management interaction in the UK office is limited and this can often lead to feel leaderless and somewhat chaotic. For 'middle management' genuine autonomy is really limited. There are huge bottlenecks for decision making. Some of the management team have been known to bully staff, with nothing done about it when flagged - though this is not something which happened to me personally. The company fails to meet market rate salaries, though this can often be the case with startups. This does of course limit the talent you can access. Finally, there is no investment in company culture which is a shame given Hibob is selling a people management platform and the reality of working in the company diverges hugely from the company vision.

Don't do it - this is not a "People first company"

Pros

This is a company that will ultimately succeed

Cons

Literally everything else. There is rampant favouritism and bullying within the company. You'll only have opportunity to grow if you are a favourite, especially in the CS org. As other reviews state you can be a toxic person as long as you hit targets they will keep you on board and even reward you. Diversity is of minimal importance - they spout the same stat constantly... we're almost a 50/50 split men and women...this is not the only diversity stat that matters! The HR team is an abomination, they are guilty of belittling and bullying. They are there for the company liability and not the people.

Thank you for your review. This is a difficult read for us as this goes against the culture and environment that HiBob strives to champion for all our people. In regards to promotions and progression there are a number of aspects that our managers will take into account when looking at progression opportunities for bobbers. Solely hitting targets isn’t the only aspect of performance that we take into consideration. Progression conversations form a major part of our bi-annual review process ‘HiGrowth’ as we want to identify and promote opportunities for progression across the business - this is something we have championed since day one and has a big part of how we have grown to an organisation of nearly 900 Bobbers. Your comments around diversity also concern us. DE&I is always a work in progress and something we are always working on, having an environment where everyone can be themselves without fear. This is something which we feel has been embedded into our culture, having launched our first inclusive BRG’s last year and forming a DE&I task force to review all areas of HiBob. Our people & culture team are there for our people and it is difficult to hear that you don’t align with this. The allegations of bullying really do concern us - please do reach out to your C level in confidence if you would like to discuss/escalate this further.

I am sorry you feel this way, but appreciate the feedback. You are raising important issues - culture and leadership are incredibly significant matters. I am open to specific feedback from you (directly or anonymously) on where we missed the mark. What I can say is that I am proud of the work we have done to strengthen the management team with several key hires over the past few months. I am confident that these seasoned leaders will be able to quickly show impact on organizational leadership, strategy and execution. Ronni Zehavi, CEO at Hibob
