Pros

Founded in 2008, Hightower Advisors is one of the top RIA firms in the US. Working at Hightower Advisors has been extremely rewarding. I have worked as a Talent Acquisition Associate in Hightower's Human Resources department for about eight months now, and it has been a far better experience than any other organization I have worked for. Hightower offers quite a lot, including unlimited PTO, competitive salaries, the technology necessary for work, multiple opportunities for growth and professional development, a flexible hybrid work schedule, and most importantly, a robust and fulfilling company culture. This culture, The Hightower Way, is brought into every aspect of our work. With weekly meetings to discuss how we can better incorporate this culture into our daily activities, it is always at the forefront of what we do. Hightower's culture not only encourages me to be more mindful of my work but it also makes me confident in my communications with colleagues. Those colleagues comprise a supportive network of professionals who are some of the kindest and most talented people I have had the privilege of working with. Hightower encourages cross-department collaboration at every level, and I have never once felt like I was tackling a task or project alone. And with a talented and highly diverse staff, there is never a shortage of fresh ideas or new perspectives. Working in Human Resources has given me the opportunity to work with teams across many corporate departments as well as our field teams of advisors, and I am happy to report that the Hightower Way is utilized across the entire organization. At Hightower, I feel as though my voice and opinions are always heard and respected, and communication from top to bottom has been prompt and effective. Hightower truly values "well-th rebalanced" and is a terrific workplace for anyone who values a welcoming, growth-encouraging environment and a healthy work/life balance.

Cons

Hightower does not offer relocation assistance, which can be frustrating for applicants and those of us working in Talent Acquisitions. This is particularly surprising considering Hightower's strict adherence to a hybrid work model. While this model perfectly fits me, no two people work the same way. I was able to relocate for this position with little difficulty, but that is not the case for everyone. Remote work has become the norm in many fields, such as technology, for which I recruit candidates at Hightower. While I appreciate Hightower's dedication to collaboration and culture, I think our reluctance to consider new fully remote hires risks missing out on some stellar talent. We should either consider offering relocation assistance or be more willing to consider fully remote work, we can't have it both ways.
