There have been multiple instances of emotional outbursts occurring openly in the laboratory, which affects morale and creates an uncomfortable work environment. Staff are hesitant to speak up because previous concerns have not led to change, and there is a strong perception that escalating issues to HR or higher leadership results in negative consequences rather than resolution. There is also a widespread concern about retaliation. The manager is perceived as someone who holds grudges, which contributes to a culture of fear and silence rather than accountability and teamwork.
