Pros

Most of the coworkers are nice and the discount workers get is good I suppose.

Cons

Super stressful and overwhelming during seasonal months, extremely understaffed and the work who they have to the bone regardless of the employee’s other responsibilities or life situations, ridiculous rules are in forced such as we are not allowed to have a water bottle at our cash register while working, the freight days are unbelievable, there’s no sort of organization and system to how to unload freight, trucks come in inconsistently and sometimes three a day, at that point your drowning in freight and you can’t really get any of it done because everyone is on the registers because we’re understaffed and things just pile up you get barely any training on anything and are expected to understand everything right from the start regardless of the fact they haven’t taught you anything, you can’t scan any items every thing is typed in by hand which sometimes leads to human error and if you make any mistakes they are completely rude towards you and make you feel awful about yourself, this job destroys any sense of self worth you may have had before hand, I regret ever applying here and if I weren’t desperate for money I would have quit within a month, do not apply here!!!!?!!!!

Pros

Laid-back atmosphere, on-site free clinic and discount pharmacy, annual bonus, genuine people, high wages for unskilled workers, paid holiday, vacation, PTO, matching 401k

Cons

Low pay for professionals; mediocre insurance coverage; stagnant work environment; reactive, not proactive leadership; lacks transparency with staff; does not support staff growth and education; low raise increases; loyalty valued over capabilities; not interested in progression; antiquated processes that slow down the workday; women underpaid in positions equal to or greater than male counterparts; male dominance in leadership positions; salary only available for leadership positions; hourly workers do not receive maternity/paternity leave (which is most staff members at the corporate offices); miniscule employee discount; years' of service awards are Hobby Lobby store gift cards; preference of "home grown" staff, especially those who move from store associates to corporate managers, which limits abilities in professional roles
