Pros
The prep and flexibility everyone has shown during this Covid-19 crisis has been amazing! We actually thought outside the box and early and were able to donate PPE to others as a result while keeping our staff safe. We took in residents from another facility that was having difficulty caring for them, and converted two areas in a matter of hours to accept them. Every team member is critical to the care our patients receive. It is awesome to see the place in action when there isn't a clear road map. Community. A can do attitude. Adaptive, not reactive.
Cons
You may have a less complex patient load and it is a small independent hospital that serves a disproportionate share of MassHealth patients so pay may not be as high as some of the other hospitals in the area.
