Pros

You can make a difference in someone's life. They're often lonely and even just your presence is a great support.

Cons

They say they will give you full-time hours if you ask for it but they never gave me more than 25 hours a week. They ask you how many miles can you drive and you tell them and they push you to do more.

Pros

Some of the clients are good people just needing someone who is attentive.

Cons

1.Owners are only supportive of family members. That's their bread and butter.NO support from the Managers regarding any issues with family, extended family. 2.Despite making it clear you cannot work certain hours, they push clients down your throat.Again, they get paid by family. 3.Unethical,Illegal practices where as Goverment Agency's had to protect employees from the Owner See.Dept of Labor Standards

Pros

Some Clients are awesome. Apps are neat and efficient tools for scheduling, client records, etc.

Cons

Very Misleading Payrate! You don't get $12 unless you work almost all weekends, and some overnights. Otherwise, you get $9. High Pressure calls and texts to take jobs last minute, night and day. Snide remarks and looked down upon in the office (by one main person, anyways) if you don't. Watch out for your health and your family! They know caregivers are kind to a fault, so if you tell them you can't lift over a certain weight for example, they'll immediately send you to someone who's incapacitated who needs to be changed. They do NOT care. Clients were unhappy with staff and reliability. One in particular requested only male caregivers who could restrain her large, strong, otherwise physically healthy husband with severe dementia, who would not stay in his house. They sent me repeatedly, a female who cannot lift over 50lbs. They told me all I had to do was walk around with him outside...but what happens when you can't get him to come back in?? Here's another day in the life. They sent me to an unsafe neighborhood, to a house where I was unwelcome because of racism; to someone bed bound. I overcame the racism after a few minutes of kindly and humbly cleaning and serving, but I still hurt myself with the bed and wheelchair transfers. Watch out! if you're sensitive, responsible and have trouble saying "no," this job's not for you.
