Pros

Well Equipped, 4day summer week, not a lot else

Cons

Constantly having to explain yourself. Managers only interested in their KPI spreadsheet, when the systems changed went from being at the top to struggling to hit targets due to massive area increase, constant Emails from managers with heading YOU MUST YOU MUST. Not treated like a human just a number, seen managers actively cause problems for engineers and try get rid of because they struggled to hit targets due to area and no part centres near by and cause KPIs not being hit. No loyalty, will hang you out to dry. Get told I can Make you work this and I Was there for contract renegotiation, their was no negotiating, it was sign this or you have no job. You agree to give them 30mins morning amd evening and 30min travel, managers don’t even understand this, unable to plan your evenings due to this constant pressure. High turn over of engineers. Best thing I did was leave, never felt more relaxed or happy.Worse place ever worked

Thanks for leaving your review. I’m glad you’re in the right role for you now. We’ve been on one hell of a journey over the last few years but overall it’s been a good and worthwhile one. One of the things we had to do was to put everyone on the same terms and conditions. We did that without anyone losing a penny and I’m really proud of that. I know that meant that some had to work more evenings and weekends but I think we got the right balance overall. Yes, people left because they didn’t like that change, but it was necessary to make it fair for everyone. With the 30 minutes for travel in your own time before and after each shift, that’s a reasonable ask and I don’t believe this means you can’t manage your evenings. I am worried by the points you make about managerial style, the points you make here do not resonate with me. One of the big tasks over the last few years has been to move away from the pointy management style you describe towards a coaching culture where the engineer takes responsibility for their own performance together with the manager. I’m going to take a good look at that again. Good luck for the future! Martin Holloway Director of Field Operations
