If you end up under the right manager, you will be sheltered from the craziness.

Cons

The company is afraid of change while the market place is changing every day. Employees are over worked and under appreciated.

They pay the bare minimum

Cons

If you don't have a certain skin color you don't have a chance for advancement. Unless you are prepared to kiss some major butt. And don't expect management to know about any of the products they sale or support.

At Horizon Software we do not tolerate Racism or any form of bullying. We take any accusation seriously but have no mention of anything matching your description occurring in our Duluth office. Our HR team primarily sits in Duluth and would jump on any claims of this sort and make sure that a full length investigation would follow. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your time at the Company but we cannot agree with the statements you have made. If something like this happened it was not brought to our attention or listed on our anonymous board.

A shell of what it used to be

Pros

Nice working environment in a good location. Still a lot of good team members to work with. Interesting market that serves a nice mission with child nutrition. Strong products and excellent product management and engineers.

Cons

Significant and ongoing leadership changes created a negative environment where everyone is fearful for their job. While some of the changes may have been needed and will be helpful in the future the poor handling and communications shifted the focus from the job at hand to survival for many employees. The focus is on profit and not growing with news sales resulting in staff reductions. While the products are great there is not much opportunity to sell because the market is saturated. The changes have hit the customer service side of the business hard with a lot of the knowledgeable people leaving including management.

As Horizon rides the wave of change inevitable personnel changes and difficult decisions have to be made. To remain a thriving and competitive company shifts have to be made in management and team members' roles. Developing new products and services is of course important. Some choose to stay and adapt to exciting new processes and some choose to look for other opportunities.
