Pros

The company benefits are amazing

Cons

The coding managers at the CBO are rarely there for questions, concerns or help. They are constantly in meetings and only come around when were being scolded. They do not allow you to go to coding related conferences anymore since the billing became centralized. Not everyone gets an Encoder, I had mine for over a year and then they decided not to renew it. We bring our own soap for the rest rooms and dish soap for the eating area. We have to restock paper towels/toilet paper ourselves.

Pros

The people that I work with directly are understanding, helpful, creative and extremely intelligent. The research facilities are pretty good, though many cutting edge research technologies are notably absent (Microisolator CMP facilities, CyTOF, NGS, High-res MS, cell culture validation services)

Cons

* Cliff vesting schedule for retirement is not great, and management fees are sky high. * vision coverage is a joke. * dental coverage is mediocre * rx coverage heavily restricts pharmacy choice for certain prescriptions * PTO is limited, and incentivizes sick employees to come to work, which has caused me to get sick on more than one occasion. * Work/life balance is bad. Overwork is a serious problem, and is unaddressed even if you bring it up. My salary is competitive for the area, but when distributed over the hours I work, calculates out to less than minimum wage. I was mocked when I brought it up. Pushing employees to work senselessly long hours is common. * Little to no diversity in my department, which only hires and retains chinese men. * Onboarding timeline makes a smooth departure very difficult.
