Pros

Decent pay. Challenging work. N

Cons

Worst benefits. Insurance surprisingly to employees was one of the worst plans I've ever had. Management is by the book, no deviation, no questions. Very political. Many many levels of middle management resulting in mind bending micromanagement of even your bathroom breaks.

Pros

The environment is very friendly and so are the people, The compensation in general is higher than what most health insurance companies offer. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and advancement. In a time where many employers are cutting salaries and laying off employees, Humana is not going through mass layoffs. They are also expanding their business, adding an in house Specialty Pharmacy.

Cons

Management does not treat the employees as well as they should. I have had multiple roles at Humana, through promotions, and I have noticed that even when you move up, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be given any more respect that what you were given in your previous role. Specifically, if you have to take time off, even if you have accrued time to take, you are still penalized if you have a sick day every now and then. You are given "occurences", which can lead to termination in a short period of time. The only people who are protected when they get sick are those who have filed and received FMLA protection.

Pros

Some of the coworkers are nice

Cons

They hire cheap which oftentimes means no experience or aptitude - even at higher management levels which equates to a very low-performing organization. Also, not a single C-level or upper management that is inspiring or engaging => little to no passion in the org. DEPRESSING!! The worst part - little to no leadership or people management skills. There are so many layers of management - many, many managers with a single FTE so no one to mentor managers on leadership or people management skills. Not much opportunity for women in roles other than admin type roles. Tech stack is abysmal - but if you are older, you may be able to get a job because the tech is so old that people coming out of college don't want the roles and/or are not learning the tech. "Re-invent" and "Re-org" at least once a year but oftentimes, once a quarter. Hence - no feeling of team or belonging nor is it easy for a team to learn to work together and deliver.
