Pros

To do good for animals around the world! Getting hired to work with them was a pleasure and they were helpful without getting in your way. Strong communication between departments. I'd be happy to work with them anytime. The senior management is busy, but take time to get to know you. Rewarding experience overall. Lots of opportunity to learn while on the job. And the work/life balance couldn't be better. Encourage you to bring pets to work!!!!!

Cons

Non-profit so no profit sharing. Hard to come by new jobs at or within the company.

Pros

The company supports a great mission around the world. It is also a growing organization and has doubled its size in the past 5 years. It is one of the few nonprofit organizations creating and hiring new positions.

Cons

Senior management is out of touch with those employees in the field, away from the DC offices. They do not listen to those of us directly in touch with the public. There are significant expectations of being available on the job after hours, on weekends and sometimes, even on vacation. This is not only during disaster rescues, but also at other times.
