Pros

The individual student programming and data tracking create a learning roadmap. There are a lot of resources available in the center for the student and tutor.

Cons

Poor pay for full-time staff roles. Poor pay for licensed teachers. Obnoxious volume of training hours for full-time staff to learn on the job while trying to perform in the role regarding testing, programming, sales, management, and more. Most centers use Google spreadsheets to manage student AND tutor schedules in addition to managing the franchise software scheduling-critical to managing student billing and tracking student progress ($, hours and scores). The franchise lacks resources for students on the autistic spectrum and those students that are undiagnosed or diagnosed with dyslexia.

Pros

They have materials and a curriculum for you

Cons

Tutors are paid at minimum wage Tutors are not paid if you show up to a shift and your student doesn't Tutors are not paid for teacher meetings Tutors are sometimes scheduled at random 2 hour intervals which makes travel inefficient Tutors are not paid for prep-time The curriculum is outdated with many references to words we would not use in 2020.

Low pay, bad management

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Flexible hours, and the students are nice, and management is sometimes okay if you can't come into work one week.

Cons

Really bad pay, no possibility for increase, they don't pay you if a student doesn't show up. The office is highly disorganized and mismanaged. Administration doesn't communicate schedule changes or program changes to you. There is no recognition when a student improves after being tutored by you, they just want students coming back to pay more for classes.
