Pros

Program seems to really work

Cons

Worked for this company in the Corporate office in Oradell 2017. Management acts esoteric . Corporate employees are trained to become robotic. Sr Management are followers and have no regard for the amount of work they pile on you with the expectation of no work life balance. Culture is suffocating and phony . Please be aware of who you share information with. Retaliation and contamination is venomous along with favoritism as long as you give this company your life.

Pros

Great mission to help educate children. Many of the staff at corporate have worked their way up from the center level and really care tremendously for thei company and its growth.

Cons

Corporate was run by fear by the Huntingtons. While it may seem beneficial that they work so closely with the corporate staff, they are stuck in their ways. I have been in meetings with the Huntington's where their employees have been talked to like they were garbage. People are consistently put down, particularly center staff, and hard work goes unrecognized. People are micromanaged and the demands are unreasonable. If you can stick it out long enough, their can be room for growth - meaning if you can create enough work for yourself and create a new position- but the turnoverer rate is so high that their is a new marketing department almost every year. This is NOT a good place to foster your career. I have seen significant hostility and disrespect at corporate and it was a sad and stressful environment to work in. Ray Huntington has yelled at my former coworkers and I worse than my parents have ever yelled at me as a child. I have seen people get fired and written up when it appears they are doing a great job. I have heard managers have yelling matches for hours. The upper management was expected to do an unnamanagable amount of work to please the Huntingtons, and after some disputes with the labor board, everybody was expected to leave on time. Therefore, upper management was getting written up because they could not complete their workload. The department was so mismanaged, and it was as if the Huntington's knew but didn't care. The HR department was useless because they knew how dissatisfied the employees were, but because the Huntington's were in charge there was never any change. I hope whoever reads these reviews takes mine & other similar reviews into account. What I wrote really doesn't cover all of the hostility I experience. It seems like a fantastic place to work upon first impression, but it can really take a toll on you.

Pros

You get to work with many caring franchisees who are dedicated to giving children the tools they need to succeed academically.

Cons

The most pressing issue with Huntington is that the founders are thoroughly inflexible and care more about making money than anything else (including the way they talk about & treat their franchisees, and the atmosphere they create for the employees in Oradell). Don't get me wrong - companies need to make money, and I'm all for profitability, but their attitude is Machiavellian and their management style resembles that of a dysfunctional "Big Brother" government. Also, they are far too involved in the day-to-day processes of every department - they do not let VPs and senior management do what is best for their teams. There is a culture of fear at Huntington that pervades the entire company, from the scare-tactic nature of the company's commercials to the fact that nobody dares disagree with the chairman. It is no surprise, therefore, that the turnover rate of corporate employees is exceedingly high. At best, Huntington is a difficult place at which to work. If you value an amicable, caring, trusting work environment, stay far, far away from this company.
