      Great People, Terrible Senior Leaders

      Pros

      many smart, fun and driven people, generous comp and benefits, great training program (especially for new graduates), ample opportunities for growth

      Cons

      this was a great company to work at 4-5 years ago, but it seems like the past few years have been rough so I would not recommend. it seems like their inability to adjust to market conditions is their Achilles' heel.

      Great first job out of college

      Pros

      I have been at Huron as an analyst in the Life Sciences practice for over a year and could not have picked a better place to start at out of college. Not only am I constantly learning through the diverse client projects and the incredibly smart management, but the company really promotes a great office culture. The people who I work with have become good friends and are always incredibly supportive.

      Cons

      I really cannot think of any cons so far, especially compared to the experiences of my peers at other consulting companies. Some might see the fact that you are put into a specific functional area from the beginning as a con, but I have appreciated the depth of knowledge I have gained in that area and there is great diversity of projects even within each functional area.

      Pros

      - Good starting pay and benefits, especially out of college - If you like to travel it can lead you to some pretty great destinations - For the most part, the people are great and fun to work with

      Cons

      - The work is very "checklist" driven, meaning you only work from the company methodology and any derivation is put down right away - Clearly they don't want to accommodate or change to adapt with the market - analysts and associates become stuck implementing a tool that is terribly outdated and a methodology that accommodates a healthcare market from fifteen years ago - Promotion is solely based on how well liked you are within teams and not necessarily how good of an employee you are - Leadership keeps telling everyone that everything is fine with the company while they continue to just lay people off and their jobs stay safe
