Pros

It was close to where I lived.

Cons

At 10 AM on a Tuesday 140 employees were pulled into a meeting where a pre-recorded message played that told us we were all being let go. The remaining employees were told that they were going to hire 300 people in Poland and India. I was a high performer, my team lead had nothing but good things to say about my performance. They weren't even consulted. Neither was their boss. Completely blindsided everyone who wasn't C-level. The software is antiquated. The pay is far below industry averages. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. Never had any transparency as to what I would be working on further than a few weeks in advance. Benefits and perks constantly being stripped away with nothing to replace them. No cost of living raises. Performance raises are laughable. But they have a slide in lobby, so woo. Promotions are held over your head forever. Advancement is non-existant.

Pros

The people, if you care about such things

Cons

While making a big deal about treating their employees like family, Hyland fired well over a hundred people without any warning or explanation, and after one of their most profitable years on record. Good companies don’t treat their employees this way.

Nepotism is the name of the game

Pros

Free m&ms and coffee. The parties were fun but they're gone now. No dress code and no drug tests - for now

Cons

Unfair compensation which causes experienced employees to jump ship. Nepotism is so blatant that it's impossible to ignore. Direction of the company is completely unknown and executives are leaving. HR is desperate to pacify negative feedback from real employees by padding reviews with false rave reviews. Company laid off over fifty people and hid it from the rest of the company. Rumor has it the company is being prepared for sale by its biggest stakeholder Thoma Bravo.
